Voluntary Contributions 

At Queensway Chapel Nursery, we are committed to providing the highest quality of care and learning experiences for all of our children. To help us continue offering a rich and engaging environment, we ask families to making a voluntary contribution each month.

What Do Voluntary Contributions Cover?

Your contribution helps us provide a range of extras that go beyond the basic funded hours, including:

• Healthy Snacks – fresh fruit and other nutritious options throughout the day

• Consumables – including dry wipes, nappy sacks, tissues, access to Nursery Calpol, spare clothes, disposable aprons, disposable gloves, the list goes on.

•  Extra and Enhanced Provision – resources such as art and craft materials, baking ingredients, messy play supplies, additional learning opportunities, sensory experiences, visits from other group (such as mobile farms) and activities that enhance the children’s day-to-day experiences. Why We Ask for Contributions

Government funding covers only the basic childcare provision for the number of hours your child is entitled to (15 or 30 hours). Unfortunately, it does not include the full cost of snacks, consumable items, or the additional experiences we provide to make our nursery such a special place.
Your voluntary contributions allow us to maintain the high standards and exciting opportunities that benefit every child.

How It Works

• Contributions are charged monthly and are voluntary — parents are free to opt in or opt out on a termly basis.

• The amount is worked out depending on whether your child is accessing 15 hours or 30 hours of funded childcare.

• If you decide to ‘opt out’ of the voluntary contributions, you will be required to bring a range of different items into Nursery each session for your child to use.

Costs

• Snacks - £1 per day (mornings only)

• Enhanced provision - £15 per month if accessing 15 hours funding, £30 per month if accessing 30 hour funding

• Extra provision - £4 per month

• Consumables - £5 per month if accessing 15 hours funding, £10 per month if accessing 30 hour funding

We will provide families with at least 4 weeks notice of any changes to costs.
